The 4.5 crorerenovated halls of the Institute Menezes Braganza were inaugurated on
Saturday 24th Nov. 2012, on
the occasion of the institute’s 141st anniversary celebrations.
The renovation process took nearly 2.5 years, however, the
new chairman was congratulated for his 3 months long commendable job
The inauguration function was like a ‘felicitation Ceremony’
Where almost every one is felicitated at the hand of CM
Parrikar and others.
Starting with theShiv Sena leader now Chairman of New IMB (Institute Menezes Branganza)
Sanjay Harmalkar
He was praised including by Parrikar for getting the
remaining work completed within 3 months
Then, almost the entire PWD ‘Khaten’ Dept was felicitated
starting with Principal Chief Engineer JJS Rego, Chief Architect Radha
and many other PWD officers (Some did not come up on the
stage) including jurnior officers of the PWD Dept.
Felicitation did not end there, the list was endless..

Kingfisher Voice of Goa 2012 Final round took place at SGPDA grounds, Margao on 10th and 11th Nov. 2012 for konkani and English category repectively. There were in all 10 finalists in Konkani Category Viz Akash Naik, Ethel Fernandes, Swarupa Naik, Valentine Cardozo, Vishal Jadhav, Sufran Majeed, Mangirish Dharwadkar, Evola Marcelo, Sushil Kumar and Ancy Gonsalves. where as, there were 11 finalists for English category Jennifer Fernandes, Cyrus Berne, Tabhita Nunes, Audrey Vaz, Omkar Halarnkar, Linus Fernandes, Jacqueline Payne, Tobit Dias, Devashish Muzumdar, Renee D’Souza, Ancy Gonsalves and Anurag Mohan. Updte 4.4.2018 After some miners knocked at SC doors, the Court has now allowed them to transport royalty paid extracted ore lying at the jetty, barges, ports etc Update 7.3.2018 Supreme Court once again stopped Mining effective 16.3.18 . SC quashed 88 mining leases granted by the Goa government for violating procedure and ordered that fresh licences be granted through a bidding process However, transportation of Iron ore continued which was later on stopped by High court effetive 27.3.18

Update: 14.9.15 Sesa Iron Ore, a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Inc, opened its second mining lease in the State today at Bicholim mining area.
Update: 10.8.15
A subsidiary of Vedanta, Sesa Goa resumes its mining operations in the state on 10th August 2015, after a gap of three years.
Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar formally launched the mining operations at Sesa Goa's Codli mines, 100 kms away from the state capital - Panaji.
Though the mining resumption was announced on Monday, the actual extraction of ore will start only after the monsoon.
