The South Goa District Hospital likely to be fully operational by 1st September 2020
GSIDC to hand over to DHS by 25th August 2020 as they were given 30 days deadline to handover.
Four operation theatres OT already commissioned and another four OTs will be ready by 22nd August 2020 and the remaining three (OTs) will be commissioned by 28th August 2020. (11 OTs).

Due to rising Corona / Covid-19 cases in Goa, the Government converting the Margao South Goa District Hospital into a dedicated Covid Hospital.
Goa has 3 other Covid hospitals Viz ESI Margao since March 27, Ponda Sub District Hospital since August 12 and GMC Bambolim for extremely Covid critical patients in 3 wards no. 145, 146 and 147 since August 24. Besides, old Hospicio for Pre-natal and ante natal Covid patients (this may also shift to new hospital)
New South Goa District Hospital likely to operated as Covid Hospital from Friday 11th September 2020. In the mean time, all OPDs, Male/Female wards etc from new hospital are being shifted back to old Hospicio Hospital.
