APPLICATION / CLAIMS FOR THE EX-GRATIA ASSISTANCE of Rs.50,000 + 2 Lacs

February 4, 2022

The Collector/Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, North Goa District, has appealed to the people of State of Goa to submit application / claims for the ex-gratia assistance of Rs.50,000/- for the next of kin of the deceased due to Covid-19. Till date, the Collector/Chairman of DDMA has processed and approved 1280 cases and disbursed the total amount of Rs. 6,40,00,000/- (Rupees Six Crores Forty Lakhs Only) to the next of kin of the deceased due to Covid-19. 

The office of the Collector North Goa District, Panaji is inviting applications/claims to avail assistance under the Ex-gratia to the next of kin of deceased to Covid-19. People are requested to visit the website of Collector North Goa District : https://northgoa.gov.in/ or State Portal : https://goaonline.gov.in/ and download the claim form and submit to the respective Taluka Mamlatdars office for verification, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity. DI/NB/PN/PN/GD/2022/111

There is also Rs.2 lakhs compensation per deceased. Goa Govt. provides one time ex-gratia of Rs. 2.00 Lakhs to families of the deceased victim due to Covid-19 infection whose income limit does not exceed Rs. 8.00 Lakhs per annum subject to maximum of one claim per family

As of  2.7.21, there were 3063 reported deaths, 2174 active cases

Of the deaths.. 

about 1000 are women, 

over 117 deaths victims are from outside Goa

Over 115 brought dead / Post mortem

Single day highest number of deaths occurred on 5th May – 80 deaths  (See chart)

Single day highest number of deaths at GMC 40 on 11th May  (See chart)

Every day there were deaths in GMC except on 29th June, Nil deaths (see chart)

 Vaccinated deaths 166 as of  7th June (include 6 both doses), DHS/GMC stopped further revealing  of such deaths as on same date 7th Jun. The figure must have touched 225 by now.

Atleast 166 are Vaccinated deaths as of 7.6.21, includes 6 who took both doses, no data available after that.

If you compare total samples tested to Goa Population (15 Lacs) it comes to 58.4% of population tested but in reality, it may not be true e.g. Some are tested more than once, non-Goan tests etc

Update April 2021

Covid cases started to rise again

As of 7th April 2021, there were 2471 active cases abd 839 deaths

 Virus spread in almost all parts of Goa.. (see list below)

 As of 20.10.2020,  2,84,193 5,17,229 (16.3.21 that is about 34.48% of Goa Populationtests were conducted of which 41,031 56,100 tested Covid positive out of which 37,275 54,497 reported cured and remaining 3,201 792 cases  shown as active.  Total deaths 812 as of 16.3.2021

Top 10 single day Covid Positive detection 740 on 12th Sept, 713 on 3/9, 673 on 24/9, 644 on 17/9, 643 on 19/9, 641 on 30/9,  639 on 10/9, 636 on 2/9, 628 on 16/9 and 621 on 9/9

The first three positive cases were detected in Goa on 25 March 2020. The three male patients were aged 25, 29 and 55 years and had traveled to Spain, Australia and the US, respectively

 First reported death was on 22nd June 2020, second being on 23rd,  third death on 27th and fourth on 30th  of same month.

In July, there were  41 reported deaths.
